Memorial Services Scheduled Friday For Eric Beard

Aerobatic Pilot Eric Beard (1957 - 2006)

January 12, 2006 — Memorial services for aerobatic pilot Eric Beard, who died in a fatal airplane crash last Friday, January 6, will be held at the Seattle Museum of Flight (9404 East Marginal Way South) on January 13. Beard was enroute from Bellingham, Washington, to Burlington when the Piper Seneca twin he was flying for Airpac Airlines went down about 400 yards short of the runway in reduced visibility conditions. Beard had performed in the Yak 54, "Russian Thunder," at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh in 2004 and 2005. EAA's thoughts and prayers go out to Eric's family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the Beard family has asked that donations be made in Eric's name to the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University or to the International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) Foundation.
