Memorial Wall
The Memorial Wall next to Fergus Chapel gives families a quiet place to remember those who have gone before us. Created by Paul Poberezny to serve as a place where family and friends could honor their loved ones in dignity, the first ceremony was held at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 1989.
We are grateful to have these tributes as part of EAA's history and be a place where legacies are forever honored. Center to the Memorial Wall is a monument formed by thousands of stones from EAA members across the world, and bronze plaques are installed annually on the adjacent walls to remember those who have gone west.
A donation of $500 or more will secure:
- Inductee name on the wall’s bronze plaque.
- Inductee biography and photo included in the Registry Album, which is displayed in the Fergus Chapel during AirVenture, and also given to each family.
- Invitation to the Memorial Wall ceremony which takes place annually on the last day of AirVenture at 10 a.m. This heartwarming ceremony includes a poignant reading of inductee names for the current year, a missing man flight formation, playing of the taps, and brunch.

Important Notes:
- The wall inscription includes two lines of text with up to 28 characters/spaces per line. The inductee’s name is not automatically put in the inscription and does count towards the two line maximum. Due to the dimensions of the plaque, we are unable to go beyond this maximum.
- Inductee biographies have a maximum of 3,000 letters/characters/spaces, to fit on one album page.
- Inductee photo needs to be a high-resolution digital file or a printed original. Photos that have been printed from a copy machine, or taking a photo of a photo, will not be accepted.
- Each family receives up to 5 Registry Albums, with additional copies available for purchase at $15 each.
- Digital link to view the ceremony will be emailed to all families by the end of September. We do not produce DVDs.

*Ordering for AirVenture 2025 installation is now open. Orders are due by April 15, 2025 (firm deadline) to get installed for AirVenture 2025. Any orders received after April 15, 2025 will not get installed until AirVenture 2026 (we are unable to extend this deadline due to the vendor timeline to process and install).
