Beverages From Around the World Highlight EAA's Hops & Props Fundraiser on March 9

Proceeds support EAA AirVenture Museum's year-round education programming

February 19, 2013 - Beverages from around the world accompanied by fine food and music highlight this year’s edition of EAA's popular "Hops & Props" tasting fundraiser on Saturday, March 9, from 7-10 p.m. at the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh. This is one of Wisconsin's premier events for beer connoisseurs. Proceeds support EAA's year-round education programs.

More than 250 extraordinary beverages are available from micro-breweries and distributors from around the world, along with food, coffees and desserts. Hops & Props tickets include entrance to the museum, a professionally prepared tasting guide, a commemorative tasting glass, hors d'oeuvres, and live music throughout the evening from Copper Box, Mr. Myers Band, Paddygrass, and Liza Day.

"While Hops & Props has become an extremely popular event for attendees and the food and drink exhibitors alike, the fun festivities all support EAA's efforts to supply free community programs through the year," said Elissa Lines, EAA's vice president of donor and business relations. "EAA can reach more people in the Fox Valley with museum programs and activities through the support of those who join us on this one-of-a-kind evening. It is definitely a fun evening with a greater purpose."

Hops & Props offers an opportunity to meet master brewers and understand the distinguishing characteristics of ales, lagers, and hybrid or mixed styles of beers. Attendees can learn about the brewing process and history, and become a discerning beverage taster.

In addition, the VIP Beer School and Dining Experience offers an in-depth, more intimate food and drink sampling experience. This added gala begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner starting at 6 p.m. This year’s event is hosted by Vanberg & DeWulf beers and Shully's Cuisine of Thiensville, Wisconsin. Guests will be educated on the brewing process of specialty microbrew beers along with a "Vanberg & DeWulf European Tour" sampling of six beers from France, Italy, Belgium, and Iceland matched by Shully's culinary specialties.

Hops & Props general admission tickets are $75 each ($65 for EAA members). Only a few limited tickets remain for the VIP Beer School and Dining Experience at $125 each ($115 for EAA members). They can be purchased through EAA's secure website or at the EAA AirVenture Museum. Attendees must be 21 or older.

The presenting sponsor for EAA's Hops & Props is MODS International, with Bergstrom Automotive and Sunset Hill Stoneware as platinum sponsors. Additional sponsors include Vanberg & DeWulf, Shully's Cuisine and Events, WVBO 103.9 Radio, The Wolf 99.5 FM Radio, Time Warner Cable, Karl’s Event Services, The Oshkosh Northwestern, and Oshkosh Community Media Services.
