EAA's Hops & Props Food/Beverage Tasting March 6 Features Added Highlights

Proceeds support EAA AirVenture Museumís year-round education and programming

EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wis. — (January 26, 2010) —Expanded offerings, special guests and additional features are all part of this year’s edition of EAA’s popular “Hops & Props” fine food/beverage tasting fundraiser on Saturday, March 6, at the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh.

More than 200 extraordinary beverages are available from micro-breweries and distributors throughout the Midwest, along with food, coffees and desserts from area restaurants. Five bands provide entertainment throughout the evening and, in addition, all Hops & Props tickets this year include the “World Import Room Experience,” with unique beverages from around the globe.

“While Hops & Props has become an extremely popular event for attendees and the food and drink exhibitors alike, the fun festivities are all key to supporting EAA’s efforts to supply free community programs through the year,” said Elissa Lines, EAA’s vice president of donor and business relations. “EAA can reach more people in the Fox Valley with museum programs and activities because of the support of those who join us on this one-of-a-kind evening. It is definitely a fun evening with a greater purpose.”

Tickets for the event are limited and are $50 each ($45 for EAA members). They can be purchased through EAA’s secure website at www.eaa.org/hops&props. Attendees must be 21 or older.

As in past years, Hops & Props also offers the VIP Beer School/Dinner as an added attraction. In 2010, the VIP event is hosted by Brian Van Zandbergen from Merchant du Vin, America’s premier specialty beer importer, who will highlight outstanding beers to match specialty foods prepared by chef Mike Buckarma of Becket’s restaurant in Oshkosh. Tickets for the VIP event are $100 each, which include admission to the entire Hops & Props evening.

More information regarding Hops & Props is also available at the website or by calling 800-236-1025. EAA is also partnering with the Hilton Garden Inn of Oshkosh to offer ticket and hotel-room packages.

Also supporting EAA’s Hops & Props are Charter Communications; WVBO 103.9 Radio; The Wolf 99.5 FM Radio; Valley Graphics; Time Warner Cable; the Oshkosh Northwestern; Wisconsin Distributors; Oshkosh Community Media Services; Karl’s Event Rental; Merchant du Vin; and Becket’s Restaurant.

The EAA AirVenture Museum is located just off Highway 41 at the Highway 44 exit in Oshkosh. The Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. EAA members receive free museum admission year-round.
