EAA Air Academy Offers Aviation Day Camp for Grades Two Through Five this Summer!
EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wis. - (April 4, 2007) — A new summer camp program at the EAA Aviation Center in Oshkosh is offering young people the excitement and discovery of flight in a day-camp setting, designed for those entering grades two through five.
The EAA Aviation Day Camp is introducing five one-week sessions throughout the summer, beginning on June 18. It's a week of nonstop excitement that includes five full days of hands-on aviation and science projects, challenge activities, museum and airport tours, and other aviation experiences. The camp is accredited by the American Camp Association and is operated under the same educational guidelines as the renowned EAA Air Academy residence camps held each summer for older students.
"We are excited to begin these EAA Aviation Day Camps this summer, as we know the fascination with flight often begins at a young age," said Bob Campbell, EAA's director of museum and residence education. "We designed the camps to be a week of nonstop excitement where fun and discovery are combined for an experience that young people can find nowhere else. For the price of a plain day camp, young people can enjoy a real 'plane' day camp."
