EAA Brings Light-Sport Aircraft Mall Concept to July's Northwest EAA Fly-In
EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wis. - (April 18, 2006) — EAA is bringing the excitement and opportunity of light-sport aircraft to the Northwest EAA Fly-In in Arlington, Wash., this summer, as that popular event will host a Light-Sport Aircraft Mall at the event July 5-9.
The Light-Sport Aircraft Mall offers the opportunity to view a variety of these new recreational aircraft in one place. All aviation enthusiasts are welcome, ranging from experienced pilots to those just discovering the possibilities of flight, and can have their questions answered by an EAA sport pilot expert. A similar area at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2005 proved so popular that the area will be enhanced and expanded in future years at Oshkosh.
"With more than 30 ready-to-fly light-sport aircraft now available, the LSA Mall at Arlington will offer the best array of choices for those who want to know more about joining the sport pilot community," said Charlie Becker, EAA's sport pilot program manager. "It's a one-stop wealth of information on the sport pilot rule and the wonderful world of flight available in light-sport aircraft."
The range of aircraft to be on display includes fixed wings of every variety plus trikes (weight-shift control), powered parachutes, and gyros. Industry representatives will be available to answer all questions about the new sport pilot rule as well as any questions about the aircraft.
