Become an Eagle Flights Volunteer

As EAA members, we’re all committed to growing participation in aviation. That’s what EAA Eagle Flights is all about. We’re reaching out to adults who say, “I’ve always wanted to fly,” and giving them a one-to-one, hands-on flight experience that inspires them to take control of their dream of becoming a pilot.

As with Young Eagles, the success of Eagle Flights is up to us as volunteer pilots, EAA members, and chapter leaders. If you’re qualified as a Young Eagles pilot, you’re automatically qualified to fly Eagle Flights. The requirements are the same. To fly passengers in either EAA program, you must:

  • Be an EAA member
  • Hold an appropriate Airman’s Certificate
  • Possess a current Medical Certificate (if applicable)
  • Be current to carry passengers in the aircraft you plan to use
  • Have a biennial flight review
  • Conduct flights in an aircraft that is in airworthy condition
  • Have Aircraft Passenger Liability Insurance for the aircraft used (owned, rented, or borrowed)
  • Adhere to all applicable Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR)

Read the complete Eagle Flights Pilot Guidelines for more details. If you’re not already a Young Eagles pilot and you would like to volunteer as an Eagle Flights pilot, please call the Eagle Flights Manager at 920-426-5914.

Registration Forms
You must complete the EAA Eagle Flights registration form before the flight, signed by you and each of your passengers. Please return the completed form as soon as possible following the flight so it can be officially registered. Your participant will also receive a free, six-month EAA membership upon submission of the form.

EAA Eagle Flights registration forms and promotional materials may be ordered directly from the Eagle Flights Office. E-mail EagleFlights@eaa.org, call 800-557-2376, or order online. Supplies are returned by mail.

Insurance coverage
Current EAA members participating in the Eagle Flights program are eligible for up to $1 million passenger liability insurance coverage, if they carry a minimum of $100,000 per seat liability insurance. This coverage is in place automatically, no additional forms are required.
