'Hello' Goes a Long Way
I have heard from various EAA members over the years that, when they attended their first chapter meeting, no one ever greeted them or said hello. So, I want to share an idea that was mentioned to me. Read more

AirVenture NOTAM Now Available
The FAA's handbook for flying to AirVenture, the 2012 Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), has been completed and is now available either in online PDF format or in printed copies available through EAA's membership services department. The 32-page booklet has several changes from the 2011 Oshkosh NOTAM, including VFR and IFR arrival procedures. Download or order your NOTAM copy
What's on Your AirVenture Bucket List?
In other AirVenture news, the new AirVenture promotional video has been released. This fast-paced video touches on the many facets of the event and the highlights for 2012, some of which include tributes to the Doolittle Raiders and Tuskegee Airmen, Piper Cub's 75th anniversary, and Van's RV 40th anniversary, plus featuring the world's only airworthy B-29 Superfortress FIFI, incredible air show performers, Steve Miller Band's opening night concert presented by Ford Motor Company, the Night Air Show presented by Rockwell Collins, and much more. Turn on the speakers (subwoofer preferred) as we ask, "What's on your AirVenture bucket list?" After you purchase your tickets, be sure to share the video with your friends.
Brazilian 'Smoke Squadron' Coming to Oshkosh
One final AirVenture note, a tremendous addition to the air show lineup was announced last week with the news that Brazil's Esquadrilha da Fumaca – the "Smoke Squadron" – would make its Oshkosh debut this summer. The official Brazilian military flight team has flown more than 3,500 performances around the world over the past 60 years, and is a crowd-pleasing act wherever it flies. The addition of this team and other acts such as the Canadian SkyHawks military parachute team are indicative of the upgrades we are seeking to the AirVenture afternoon air shows, which are sponsored by Rockwell Collins. |

Chapter 240 Gets an 'A' for App
Technology has changed the way we communicate, and Chapter 240 (Wilmington, Delaware) is on top of the latest innovation by creating its own chapter app for smartphones. Designed, developed, and deployed by its membership, Chapter 240's app joins its Facebook and Twitter pages as new, effective ways to reach members and potential members about chapter activities and promote aviation.
Download the app to your Android or iOS device and see for yourself the great communications tool developed by Chapter 240.
