YOUNG EAGLE EVENTS
|
There are several events
scheduled during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2010 that will be
of interest to chapter coordinators and Young Eagle
volunteers.
- Young Eagles Forum,
hosted by North Carolina Field Representatives Jim and
Sandy Dukeman, Monday, July 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45
a.m. in the Dake Corporation Pavilion #1. Jim and
Sandy are experienced field representatives and have
hosted this forum for several years. Topics will
include recruiting and organizing successful Young
Eagle events.
- Young Eagles and
Aviation Exploring, Tuesday, July 27 at 6 p.m. Many
chapters have asked about starting an Aviation
Exploring Post. It may seem like a big task, but it
really isn't. Young Eagle co-chair Jeff Skiles will
host an informal meeting about Aviation Exploring at
the Explorers base on the AirVenture site. The base is
located near the Warbird area. It is I-5 on the site
map. Jeff and several leaders from Chapter that
have started Explorer Posts will be available to
answer your questions. Even if your chapter is not
currently thinking about starting a post, feel free to
stop by meet Jeff and learn more. You'll also see the
Aviation Exploring encampment in action. Please meet
at the kitchen building.
- EAA Young Eagles Leaders
Workshop, Wednesday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
in the PHP Conference Center tent. This annual
workshop provides valuable tips and techniques from
other volunteers and the latest information from the
Young Eagles office. Lunch is included. Please register
in advance here.
- EAA Young Eagles Awards
Banquet, Wednesday, July 28, 5:30 p.m. at EAA
AirVenture Museum's Eagle Hangar. Joining us will be
our featured guest speaker, Young Eagles cochairman
Sully Sullenberger. The event is now sold out.

Next, we head west to Sacramento, California, where you
can read about EAA Chapter 52's recent B-17 tour stop: www.EAA52.org/NL_May2010.pdf.

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF US
|
|
EAA's online Calendar of
Events is open to all aviation-related events and
available to anyone looking for aviation activities. Take
advantage of this free tool to promote your chapter's
events. The calendar page is consistently in the top five
most visited pages and scores high in many web searches.
Entering the information is easy, too, and it takes only a
couple minutes. People can't attend your meetings or
support your events if they don't know how to find you. Click
here to get started.
