| CHAPTER
ACTIVITY SUGGESTION |
| Looking
for a way to build good relations with your airport and
plan an activity to bring your chapter together? Why not
volunteer to help with a "spring cleaning" at
your airport. It can be as easy as picking up the trash
along the fence line, fixing up the benches outside the
fixed base operator, or helping repaint the compass
rose. Offering your chapter's "people power"
can help remind your airport of the value of having an
EAA Chapter based at the field. Throw in a cookout after
the workday and you'll have an activity the whole family
can enjoy.

| USE
A WEBINAR AS YOUR NEXT CHAPTER PROGRAM |
|
Leave it to EAA members to be
creative. Following the TIG Welding webinar, we received
the following note from Jim Bir, president of EAA Chapter
915 (Parkersburg, W.V.): "The TIG webinar was far
better than I hoped. The information was valuable to me
and the others. The webinar happened to be on the night of
our chapter meeting. I was able to pipe the video to a
projector and hook up a sound system. Nine of our members
watched the webinar. All comments were favorable. We look
forward to more of these programs in the future."
Thanks, Jim! By the way,
all of our webinars are recorded and archived and could
also be used as a chapter meeting program. For the
complete archives, click

FROM EAA FOUNDER PAUL
POBEREZNY |
|
Shortly, all chapter
presidents will receive a reprint of a poster entitled
"Freedom is what EAA is all about." Recently
several chapter leaders attending a Leadership Academy saw
the poster and asked Paul about it. After talking it over,
Paul thought it would be good to share the poster with all
the chapters. Paul also took time to individually sign
each one. We hope it finds a place of honor in your
chapter's hangar or meeting place.

MAKING A GOOD FIRST
IMPRESSION
|
|
With the approach of Learn to
Fly Day (May 15) and Young Eagles Day (June 12), the following
article written by Budd Davisson is an excellent
reminder that we have only one chance to make a good first
flight impression.
Thanks to Budd Davisson for
permission to share this article.

EAA CHAPTERS IN THE NEWS

|
FEATURED NEWSLETTERS
|
|
This month's featured
newsletters were selected for their layout and content.
First is EAA
Chapter 240 (Toughkenamon, Pa.). The newsletter has
some timely articles on a variety of subjects, plus some
great photos. Also check out this video of a banner-tow
pickup at Toughkenamon shot by a visiting EAA Radio
staffer in September, 2007. From there, we head to EAA
Chapter 992 (Marshfield, Wis.). This newsletter's
clean design is also a complement to the chapter's
website. The chapter has done a nice job of creating a
look for its printed and online publication. Enjoy!
