I'll be the first to admit, it's taken much longer to even get started than I ever thought it would.
Patience is a virtue I am learning is part of this process.
Waiting is never fun, but since I have to wait, I’ve found ways to wait actively.
I’ve been flying a simulator called X-Plane that is incredibly fun. You can download hundreds of planes and fly them at real airports. I’ve been practicing on a Remos G3-600 at my local field—KOSH. While I’m sure it’s not the same as the real deal, it is familiarizing me with the instruments and the airport.
Here’s a link to where you can demo and purchase X-Plane and here’s where you can create a free login to download hundreds of different aircraft. (under the files/downloads tab)
As we wait on our curriculum to arrive, I’ve also been browsing through a book a friend gave me…
I'm sure even after I get started there will be times that I'll be waiting— waiting on weather, waiting on schedules to align, so I'm glad I've learned this lesson early—how to wait actively.
If you know of other ways to actively wait, please chime in and share them.
